Obituary of Christine Florence Bowman

Christine Florence (Fritz) Bowman, 100, of Dowagiac passed away peacefully at 8:22 p.m. on Monday, August 19th, 2019, at Cass County Medical Care Facility in Cassopolis.

Christine was born on November 8th, 1918, to John and Vina (Hobbs) Fritz. She worked for Heddon Bait Co., as well as the Dowagiac Pastry Shop for many years. Christine’s hobbies include baking, cooking, and doing work around her yard. She enjoyed scratch-off tickets and the Price is Right. She also had an affection for all animals. She also loved to spend time with her “pride and joy”, her great-nephew Reggie Fritz.

Preceding her in death were her parents John and Vina; four brothers, Clarence, Leon, Albert, and Charles; as well as two sisters, Rose Dine and Mable Dings.

She is survived by her nephew, Bruce (Pam Ganger) Fritz; sister-in-law, Joyce Fritz; and many more nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to send out a special thank you to the entire patient care staff at Cass County Medical Care Facility for their years of exceptional care and kindness for Christine.

Those wishing to make a memorial donation in her memory may make them to the Cass County Animal Control.

A private graveside service will be held the morning of Friday, August 23rd at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles.
