Obituary of Carol Cates

Carol F. Cates, 77, of Niles, formerly of Bremen, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at her home, with her loving family at her side.

Carol was born on August 30, 1941, to the late Carl and Alice (Schroeder) Holderman in Bourbon, Indiana.

On March 20, 1982, she wed Derrel Cates at a ceremony in Bremen, Indiana. Carol worked for many years in the RV industry as an electrician. In her free time she enjoyed eating out, growing flowers, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Holderman: mother, Alice Snyder; infant son, Robert Holderman; siblings, Eugene Holderman, Louis Holderman, Josephine Frachetti and Dale Holderman.

Carol is survived by her husband, Derrel Cates of Niles; children, Jim (Tammy) Conley of Batesville, Arkansas; Becky Conley of Brownsburg, Indiana; Sue (Dave) Hoover of Plymouth, Indiana; and David (Betty) Conley of Monticello, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; siblings, Paul (Patti) Holderman of Bremen; John(Margarett) Holderman of Plymouth; Lyla Marks of Bremen; Phillip Holderman of Argos; Betty (Galeen) Good of Bourbon; and Doreene Schaible of Atwood; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family and friends will gather 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, for a time of visitation, at Brown Funeral Home, 521 E. Main Street in Niles, Michigan.
