Mark was our band major in the Niles Senior High School Band. He was awesome and represented us all well. And, yes, he could play that saxaphone. We had so much fun on football nights playing in the pep band. Those were the days. Memories cherished by us all I'm sure.
My condolences to the entire Adams family. I just heard about Mark's passing. May God Bless you all and keep you as your lives go on without him. From what I remember, Mark was all about life, living and happiness. I'm sure that is what he wanted for everyone around him.
The Covington's send their prayers and much love. God Bless.

I worked with Mark on and off for 11 years at Bashor and was always amazed at the way he could relate and work with kids who were going through all sorts of issues.Mark had a passion and gift in working with teens who were experiencing life changing situations and their after effects.I learned many life lessons from this humble, loving,God fearing man. So sorry for your loss- may God be your comfort.

We were so sorry to hear of Mark's passing. Our prayers and sympathy to the entire family. I grew up next door to Mark. I remember his beautiful parents, playing with his nieces and nephews. My fondest memory was walking down to the corner of 8th and Main street waiting for the parade so we could see the Niles High School Marching Band!!! He was awesome!!! That was the best and most exciting part of the parade!! Again, our prayers are with you all today and in the days to come.

Mark and I worked together for many years. He always put the kids first and inspired us all. He was a blessing to know. I remember a couple of times he gave me a ride home on the back of his motorcycle (even though he said I was screaming, I'm sure it was just the wind). Rest in Peace My Friend.

Mark was a great co-laborer out at Bashor. He had a heart for the youth there, and was able to help them see beyond the current struggle they were facing, to help them learn to stop and think and make better choices. We had many good conversations over the years. I am saddened to hear of his passing. He will be missed.

I was so sad to hear of Mark’s passing. Mark worked with me in our Teen Court and Stoplifting programs at Bashor for many years. I loved to watch him with the kids. He was amazing with them and they loved him. And he was a charismatic speaker as well. A kind man with a good heart. Prayers to his family.

I worked directly with Mark nearly my entire time at Bashor. Although I was his supervisor, I learned a great deal from him as to how to work with our kids. As Rusty said, the man left a legacy. He will be missed.

I was shocked and so sorry to hear about Mark's passing. I considered him a friend even though we hadn't seen each other for about 10 years. Mark touched a lot of lives--kids and staff--in his work at Bashor. He made a difference in my life, and I thank God for the opportunity we had to know each other. I have many good memories of Mark. May God bless and comfort his family and friends.

The news just hit the campus at Bashor Children's Home where Mark still is rather a legendary figure. I had the opportunity to work with him and learn from his gifts helping kids for about 10 years here. His heart for kids and his ability to connect with a kid struggling through some of the most difficult things imaginable was a most amazing gift to our world. I remember many long talks with "Mr. Adams" and we all are feeling a great sense of loss- but definitely peace that he is with Jesus now and probably playing some of the best music he's ever played.
Mark will forever be one of our heroes at Bashor and I know there are literally hundreds of kids who are all grown up now who have overcome difficulties in their lives because of Mark's pouring into them and helping them find hope to carry on. To all the family and friends who are walking this difficult road right now- please know that you are also part of our Bashor Family as Mark was for so long. We are praying for you and asking the Holy Spirit to bring comfort and peace and joy your way along with an army of angels to minister to you.
Personally I can say that Mark was one of the most remarkable souls I've worked with in almost 30 years of helping kids. And his work for the Kingdom of God goes far beyond anything we can imagine. Remember that this world is not our home and one day we will get to enjoy sitting with Mark and Jesus and jamming to some music that's never been heard before. I thank God that my journey crossed paths with him for all those years and that I was able to learn from his special gifts with teenagers.
Be Jesus',
your little brother in Christ,
Chaplain rusty edwards
