Obituary of Toby Michael Stephens

Toby M. Stephens, 33, passed away on June 26, 2019, in North Carolina.

Toby was born on September 20, 1985, in Niles Michigan to Thomas and Tamra (Harger) Stephens. He attended Niles Community Schools. Toby loved sports; he played baseball and football during his younger years. He was a big Notre Dame fan. Toby especially enjoyed attending the Blue and Gold game with his grandpa and great grandpa Stephens, his dad, and his brother Tyler.

Toby excelled in doing drywall work, he became a master drywall hanger, and finisher, while working construction in the Stevensville area. He was always willing to help family members, and friends do repairs or fix ups on their homes.

Toby is survived by his father, Thomas Stephens of Stevensville, Michigan; mother, Tamra Newcomer of South Bend, Indiana; his sons, Terrance M. and Taylor M. Stephens, along with their mother, Ashley Dowd of North Carolina; three brothers, Tyler (Vanessa) Stephens, Bobby Newcomer and Camron Newcomer; a sister, Amy Newcomer; grandparents, Dick and Sue Harger, and Kay Stephens all of Niles; nieces and nephews, Tristen Stephens, Owen and Tessa Sears, Alyssa Turley, Brady and Logan Helmus, and Trae and Evalin Newcomer;  uncles, Todd (Becky) Harger, Craig (Amy) Harger, and Chris Downie; cousins, Austin, Evan, Jared, and Chloe, along with a large extended family.
    
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Terry Stephens and an uncle, Tracy Stephens.

A time of visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Saturday, July 6^th, 2019, at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 521 E. Main St. in Niles.
