Earlier this month we lost one of the best woman I knew if my life. Grandma Smothermon was a sweet old lady that you could sit down and have a conversation with about life. She would share her stories from growing up and I would sit there and listen hanging on to every word. When Grandma and Grandpa Smothermon were alive it was nice to come in the front door and talk to Grandma for a bit and then head out to the barn where Grandpa was working in the barn. Looking back now I enjoyed my conversations with Grandma as I did Grandpa...just in different ways. I remember when I was sick and in the hospital they both would come and sit by my bed for hours, even if I was sleeping to make sure I was ok. Putting others above themselves, this was Walter and Shirley Smothermon. After Grandpa passed away I would periodically stop by and see Grandma and talk with her, looking back now I wish I would have done it more often. Now I know she is in heaven with Grandpa and they can now watch over us. We can take the memories, the talks and the time we spent with them both and cherish them. I know you are in a better place, but everyone here will miss you terribly. I love you very much and I will never forget what you meant to me throughout my life!
