Ron and I grew up as kids and neighbors on Hoyt Dr. Lost track of him after we grew up and left home. Did not see him until my wife and I bought the home we are in now on Claire street in Edwards burg 12 years ago and He stopped one day and as soon as I seen him I knew who he was .. Was certainly a great friendly neighbor and always enjoyed the many times he would pull in drive way and shut the motor off and we would talk for at least 45 minutes and he would start his truck several times and say I have to go and the next thing ya know he would shut it off and we would gab a bit longer.So sorry to hear today that he passed.

Mr. Pletcher was one of my most favorite teachers! He was my third grade teacher and was such a sweet, patient man. I still remember our baby chicken program and the excitement we all had when they started to hatch. I didn’t appreciate his kindness until I was much older. I like to believe that he knew my story, my home life, before I was even aware of what I would have to overcome later in life. He was a wonderful teacher and an even better human. My deepest sympathy for your loss.

My condolences to you and the family. Ron was my six grade teacher at Howard Community School. Best teacher I had. Such a great man in so many ways. Back in the middle sixty ‘s I build a robot for the science fair. I remember how impressed he was and taking pictures of it and me. Wrote an article on the binary system and how it worked. Thought of him often over the years.

Robin, I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. He was one of the best teachers I ever had. Loved & respected him for how he handled my supernumary teeth surgery (I could not wait to get back to his class & he let me come back bloody noses and all). He was patient & kind. This man showed nothing but love and acceptance to those he came in contact with. From day one, Ron welcomed me and my children into his family. He asked nothing in return except I "take care of his boy." Everything about him made you want to be a better person.... just so you could be a little more like him. I am thankful for having known him and the lessons he shared with me. He will be missed in ways that can't be measured.

So sorry to hear of Ron passing away. I've known him since I was 10 years old when they moved to Michigan. Was friends with him and his family when they lived at Barron Lake and then when they moved to Coulter Street. Our kids grew up together and shared some good times. Prayers for comfort to his loved ones.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Sharon and the entire Pletcher and Sheeley families. Praying for all who were blessed to know Ron. We have many memories of him from revival services at Coulter's Chapel but more recently at Pletcher family reunions. What a great man of God he was!
