Obituary of Christine Watts

Christine Watts, 94, a 55 year resident of Buchanan, went home to be with her loving Savior on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN.  

Christine was born on January 5, 1925, to the late Ira and Eliza (Henry) Robinson in Hermandale, Missouri.

On April 14, 1956, she married Joe A. Watts Sr, at a ceremony in Kennett, Missouri. To that union, five children were born.  Christine was a wonderful homemaker; she enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family, sewing and traveling. Christine was a strong woman of faith. She loved her church and church family, was faithful in attending Sunday services and Wednesday night bible studies at Lively Stone Ministries in Buchanan when she could. As much as her Church and Faith were important, her family meant the world to her, she was a caring, giving and loving; mom, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joe A. Watts Sr., siblings, Ira Robinson Jr., Clara Stewart, Annie B. Lemons, Ulysses Robinson, Mae Ola Childs, Tom Frank Robinson, and Charlie Robinson.

Christine is survived by her children, Laurethia Askew, Joseph Watts, Joe A. Watts Jr, H. Quincy Watts, and Leah Watts; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Joanne Moore and Linda Williams, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Mother Alma Miller; a church family and a community that will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Lively Stone Ministries, 1103 Victory St, Buchanan, MI 49107.  A time of visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
