Obituary of F Lester Dircks

F. Lester Dircks, 86, of Niles, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Buchanan Meadows, following a brief illness.

He was born in South Bend, Indiana to the late Frederick L. and Loretta (Crawford) Dircks.

On June 20, 1953 Lester married the love of his life, Kathryn Sirokavas at a ceremony in Niles, Michigan. Lester was retired from the former Bendix Corporation after many years working as a draftsman and as a production liaison. He enjoyed fishing with his wife, gardening, hunting, mushrooming, feeding the birds and watching westerns. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad and grandpa.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, both in 1985; his wife Kathryn in 2018 and a brother, Richard Dircks in 2015.

He is survived by his children, Valerie Dircks of Niles, Vickie (Patrick) Tracy of Larkspur, Colorado and David (Valerie) Dircks of Indiana; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; best friend and neighbor Michael Burrow and family.

A time of visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. A private family burial will take place on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
