Obituary of Jack Walter Scott Sr.

Jack W. Scott Sr., 88, of Niles, passed away at Riveridge Nursing home on Tuesday, February 26, 2019.

Jack was born on August 25, 1930, to the late John and Susie (Copeland) Scott in LaFayette, Alabama.

On April 8, 1950, he married the former Willa M. Dallas in Lafayette, Alabama. To that union ten children were born. Jack was employed at National Standard for many years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and watching westerns.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Willa Mae; children, Charles Billingsley and Moses “Chip” Scott; siblings, John Scott, Louise Abner, Randolph Scott, Mamie Davis, Minnie Finley and James Scott

Jack is survived by his children, Barbara (William) Stemmons, Jack Scott Jr., Cathy Harris, Gwen (Edward) Singer, Stanley Scott, Marcia Scott, Curtis (Elayne) Scott, and Damon (Yuneker) Scott; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty J. King.

Homegoing services for Jack Scott will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Franklin AME Church in Niles, with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, where he will be laid to rest next to his wife.
