We were at Mike & Patte's lake house and I mentioned that I had never been in a kayak. Mary showed me how to get in one. She got in the other and we paddled the whole lake. She was in her late 70's and seemed fearless to me. I remember thinking that day that I want to be like her. She will be greatly missed.

So sorry for your loss. I fondly remember many bicycle rides with Mary and many swim meets with her grandchildren.

My deepest sympathies to the entire family. Mary was one of my favorite people at Swiss Valley. She was warm, funny, enthusiastic, and always interested in those around her. She was also one of my role models as a ski instructor -- I have many fond memories of skiing with her & Katie. She was one of a kind, and I smile, just thinking about her.
She will be greatly missed.

Our backyards adjoined when I was growing up on Lawndale. Mrs. Flynn was the most amazing, fun mom on the block. She skied, she swam, she played with all the kids. Years later, she was my landlady on Lincoln St. May your happy memories provide you comfort.

Mary was friends with my grandmother while she was at Woodlands. Mary helped my grandma so much while she was there. Mary had such a kind heart and always had a smile on her face. She will be greatly missed.

The passing of a great lady, certainly. Mary was kind, gracious, and truly interested in the welfare of everyone having the opportunity to know her. Her Ski Patrol family was privileged to have had her as a shining example; she did, indeed, set the bar a little higher for the rest of us to follow. I am very grateful to have known her.

Mary was one of the few people that you get to meet in life that are 100% honest, true and loving. She was everything that a human being was supposed to be. If we all could be even 50% of what she was, the world would be a utopia.
I had the pleasure of getting to know Mary as a ski patroller. Her grandson Tim worked for me for a few years and every time Tim and I talked about her, you could see the influence that she had on him. Mary always told me that if Tim got out of line to tell her and she would set him straight. I think Tim knew this because he never got out of line.
I had the pleasure with skiing with her for a week in Utah back in the late 90's and it was a trip that I will never forget. She was so easy to talk too, and a wealth of stories and experiences that she loved to share. She was amazing person that always made you feel like you were family.
We have lost a true friend and an incredible human being.
To her family, I express my deepest condolences. You can never know how many people Mary touched in her life. I will never forget her
To Mary... Eternal first tracks and endless corduroy await you…..

What a great life! Dan and Marty may remember the Fowlers from Niles; we moved when I was 8. It was a real joy to reconnect with your mom on ski patrol 35 years later where I also found Katie and Tim. I knew nothing of skiing to start and Mary worked hard (along with Jim Smith) to teach and help me when we worked 'days' together. It was a different age (without as many regulations) so she taught me the snowmobile and we worked dozens of first aid calls together. We always worked together; we always were able to help and we always had fun. I'm sorry to miss the service as I will be flying to Colorado to snowboard, something she would surely approve of. My thoughts and blessings are with you all.

Mom Flynn always had a kind word for me and even helped me in a time of need. Welcoming and smiling, she was truly interested in people and their well being. There is a hole in the world today...
