Obituary of Michael Dale Spurlock

Michael “Mick” Dale Spurlock, 48, of Tucker, Arkansas and formerly of Niles, passed away in his sleep on Saturday, January 19, 2019.

Mick was born on March 11, 1970, in Martinsville, Indiana to Dave and Shirley (Rohl) Spurlock.  Mick and his father later moved to Niles where he attended Brandywine High School.  He will always be remembered for his amazing and realistic art and his ability to bring a story to life.  He often sold drawings to friends and his wit was second to none.  Mick was the best storyteller around and each story included incredible detail and larger than life physical animation that often brought friends and family to tears of laughter.

Mick is survived by his father and stepmother Dave and Tina Spurlock of Niles; mother, Shirley Rohl of Martinsville; children, Jacob Spurlock and Amanda Kauffmann; one granddaughter; siblings, Matthew (Kara) Spurlock of Indianapolis, Cindy (Michael) Morse of Cassopolis, Christina (Jeff) Harrell of Dowagiac, Pearl (Chris) Peterson of Edwardsburg, and Shawn Spurlock of Edwardsburg; and many extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held in the spring in his hometown of Martinsville.  Those wishing to help the family with Mick’s final expenses may make donations to the family or by calling the funeral home at 269-683-1155.
