Obituary of Ebbia Iris Baigorria

Ebbia Iris (Pires) Baigorria, 80, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, following an illness.

She was born in Entre Rios, Argentina on March 9, 1938, to the late Vincente and Louisa (Rodriguez) Pires.

Iris married Manuel R. Baigorria on December 24, 1968 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

A few years later the couple moved their family to the United States and shortly after made Niles their home. She was a dedicated homemaker, not only in her own home but to many others as well; including the Edwardsburg and Buchanan Schools, the Niles Post Office and the Niles Police Department. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed Notre Dame but passionate about Argentina soccer. Iris was always active and enjoyed exercise, fashion, jewelry, and dancing. She had a great love of pets, especially, Roscoe, Daisy, and Suzy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers as well as six sisters.

Iris is survived by her son, Steve Baigorria of Niles; a sister, Chona Pires of Argentina; brother-in-law, Luis Baigorria, Sr. of Niles; many nieces and nephews, Amy Baigorria of South Bend, Dan Baigorria of Niles and Louis Baigorria of Lake Zurich, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Monday, December 10, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., with a time of visitation one hour prior. An interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
