Obituary of Anjanette Marie Toth

Please share a memory of Anjanette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Anjanette Marie (Warsop) Toth, 62, of Niles, passed away, Thursday, August 23, 2018, at her home, following a second courageous fight with cancer.

She was born on June 17, 1956, in Battle Creek, Michigan to Daniel Lee and Myrna Ann (Lee) Warsop.  Anjanette grew up in Augusta, Michigan and graduated from Galesburg-Augusta High School in 1974.  In high school, she was a member of the National Honors Society, marching band, and symphonic orchestra where she played the coronet and French horn.

She was a loving, caring, and kind person so it was no surprise that those traits led her to a career in nursing.  After high school, she graduated from Western Michigan University in 1978 with a Bachelor’s Degree and later received her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from Nazareth College and her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Lake Michigan College.

She was united in marriage to James Toth in 1978.  Though the marriage ended in divorce the two had one son who was the pride of Anjanette’s life.  When she was younger Anjanette taught high school in Galien and Buchanan school districts before her career in nursing.  Anjanette spent many years working at Lakeland hospital in Niles where she was an Emergency Room nurse for 20 years, a surgery recovery nurse, and an ICU nurse. She was also a nursing instructor at Lake Michigan College for many years.  In 2016 Anjanette retired from Lakeland after 35 years of employment.  She will be remembered as a friend to all she met.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel.

Anjanette is survived by her mother, Myrna A. Warsop of Three Rivers; son, Daniel (Candace) Toth of Madison, Wisconsin; grandsons, Carter and Glen Toth; brother, Bradford (Victoriana) Warsop of Michigan; and many friends in the Lakeland nursing community whom she mentored and instructed as young nurses and who she considered her second family.

Anjanette was passionate about nursing and helping women in less fortunate circumstances, especially those who also fought cancer.  Anjanette’s family would like to thank her many friends, especially Jennifer, Sherry, and Cathy who nursed her in her difficult days and sat by her bed and held her hand while she passed.

Anjanette’s family held a private memorial service to honor her life.
