Sharon K. Mott, 74, of Cassopolis, passed away at her home Thursday evening, August 16, 2018, following an extended illness.

Sharon was born on March 31, 1944, to the late Eugene and Louise (Proulx) Toy in Chippewa Falls,

Wisconsin.

After graduating from Niles High School, Sharon went on to work for many years at local supermarkets

as a produce manager and also made many friends cleaning houses for people that lived on Diamond Lake.

On November 23, 1963 she married Allen Mott at a ceremony in the United Methodist Church in Pokagon, Michigan, a marriage that lasted nearly 55 years.

Sharon enjoyed cooking, entertaining family and friends, camping, fishing, traveling and mostly spending time with her family. You could never leave her home without food in your hands.

Sharon was very close with her siblings and known for spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was her husband’s number one fan, listening to him play music and sing the whole time they were together. Sharon was loved by many people. She was generous and always willing to help someone whether it be a small gesture as simple as carrying groceries for an older person, offering to help cook for anyone throwing a party, or volunteering Al  to play music at a benefit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Patricia Parker, and brother-in-law’s, David Gillesby, Larry Martin and Ferris Pierson.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Allen Mott of Cassopolis; her children, Theresa Mott of Cassopolis and John (Wendy) Mott of South Bend; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Pierson of Benton Harbor; Don (Mary Lou) Toy of Dowagiac, Monica (Terry) Miller of Dowagiac, Judy (Donald) Bell of Dowagiac, Mary Gillesby of Keeler, Carol Martin of Bolivar Tennessee, Marguerite (Gary) Huston of Dowagiac, and many extended family members and close friends.
