Obituary of Leslie E. Overmyer

Leslie Evelyn (Hartman) Overmyer, 72, of Niles, passed away at her residence at 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018.

Leslie was born to the late Lester and Charlotte (Laudenschlager) Hartman on October 2, 1945 in Niles, Michigan.

After graduation Leslie pursued a career in cosmetology and later in her career even opened up her own shop.

On Leslie’s birthday, in 1971, she married Jimmy Overmyer at a ceremony in Niles.

Together Jimmy and Leslie traveled extensively on the Harley, Leslie rode over 100,000 miles with Jimmy as her chauffer.  Travel had always been a part of Leslie’s life.  She traveled to Germany, Ireland, Alaska, Hawaii, and many other exciting places.  Her family also owns a cabin on Liver Lake in Crystal Falls, Michigan where she enjoyed many vacations with them. 

Leslie was preceded in death by her father and mother; brothers, Dean and Gayle Hartman.  

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jimmy Overmyer of Niles; a daughter, Kristi Senger of Niles; a step-daughter, Debra (Adam) Clement of Hart, Michigan; a step-son, David Overmyer of Cassopolis; Six grandchildren; five brothers, Don (Carol) Hartman, Mike (Renee) Hartman, David (Marcia) Irwin, and Charles Irwin all of Niles and John (Becky) Hartman of Buchanan.

In keeping with her wishes, her family will remember her privately.
