Obituary of Trent Allen Hutchings

Trent A. Hutchings, 45, of Niles, passed away unexpectedly, but of natural causes, at his home on Tuesday, August 14, 2018.

Trent was born on March 6, 1973, to David A. Hutchings and Teresa A. Stout in Dowagiac, Michigan. After graduating from Dowagiac High School in 1991, Trent went on to complete his Associates Degree at Western University in Kalamazoo. He has worked for Modineer in Niles for several years. On July 17, 2015, he wed Jennifer Martinez at a ceremony in Detroit. Trent loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved music, especially the Wayland Band.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Eugene Hutchings, Arlo Stout and Harold Smith.

Trent is survived by his wife, Jennifer Hutchings; father, David A. (Susan) Hutchings of Cassopolis; mother, Teresa Stout of Lawton; children, Jessalyn Fields of Niles, Austin J. Wells of Detroit, Bryce and Caleb Daniels of Hastings, Alicia Fernandez of Madrid Spain; step-children who he considered his own, Christian and David Martinez of Niles; brothers, Jason (Tammy) Hutchings of Decatur and Greg Freeze of Lawton; grandmothers, Thelma Smith, Wennanah Stout and Margaret Hutchings; and many extended family members and close friends.

A memorial visitation to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m, at Brown Funeral Home, 521 E. Main Street in Niles.

Memorial donations in his memory can be made to the family, in care of his wife, Jennifer.
