Obituary of Patricia Marie Legatt

Patricia M. Legatt, 65, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Riveridge Manor in Niles, following a courageous battle with cancer.

 

She was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota on March 17, 1953 to the late Alfred and Sylvia (Anderson) Petron.

 

After graduating high school, Patricia furthered her education receiving her certification as a laboratory technician. She spent many years being a legal assistant. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Niles as well as a member and Past-President of the Bend of the River Conservation Club. Patricia always enjoyed time spent in the garden, hunting and sharp shooting. She taught hunter safety and self-defense classes. Patricia’s favorite holiday was Christmas and she was known for making cookies and delivering them to the local police and fire stations. She was an avid reader, dog lover and cherished a good cup of coffee and conversations with friends. Patricia mostly loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Toni Gersich.

 

Patricia is survived by her children, Cheryl Legatt of Cassopolis, Gregory Legatt of Niles, Stephanie Legatt of South Bend and Jennifer Legatt of Niles, four grandchildren, Autumn Legatt, Lexie Legatt, Ava Grice, Cecilia Webster; a great-grandchild Riley Parrish; siblings, Steve (Trish) Petron of Windham, New Hampshire, Jackie (Tim) Baker of Monticello, Minnesota, Danny (Kathy) Petron of Park Hill, Oklahoma and Charles (Penny) Petron of Maplewood, Minnesota.  

 

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Brown Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with Recitation of The Rosary at 7:30 p.m.

 

Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia Legatt will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 203 South Lincoln Avenue, Niles by the Rev. Christian Johnston of the parish, assisted by Deacon Roger Gregorski. 

 

Memorial contributions may be made in Patricia’s memory to her family to assist with final expenses.
