Obituary of Dennis Dale Waggoner

Dennis “Denny” Dale Waggoner, 66, of Dowagiac, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville. 

Denny was born on April 1, 1952, to the late Buck and Betty (Doroh) Waggoner in Niles, Michigan.  After graduating from high school Denny went to work for Tyler’s Refrigeration.  On August 23, 1976, Denny wed Brenda Mark at a ceremony in Niles.  Together the two had two children.  Growing up Denny was a doting father.  He taught his daughter how to play softball in their front yard and was always there to encourage his son. 

When Tyler’s closed for business Denny finally retired as a Production Supervisor.  He didn’t sit idle for long though, he soon took up a part-time job at Hampshire Country Club in Dowagiac where he could work and golf.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda Waggoner; daughter, Alicia (Dana Evans) Waggoner of South Bend; son, Aaron (Nichole) Waggoner of Edwardsburg; grandchildren, Alexa, Desiree, Braden and Lillian; brother, Kenneth (Diana) Waggoner of Niles; sister, Gayle (Bob) Hawkins of Cassopolis; and many extended family members and close friends.

Funeral services to celebrate Denny’s life will be held Monday, May 14, 2018, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles at Noon with a time of visitation two hours prior.  Interment will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
