Obituary of Dorothy Mae Stone

Dorothy Mae Stone, 83, of Benton Harbor, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 19, 2018, while surrounded by her family. 

 

Dorothy was born on July 16, 1934, to the late Claude and Amanda Abbott in Bangor Michigan.  After high school, Dorothy wed and had two sons and one daughter.  She worked for VM Corp. and Heath Corp but spent most of her time raising her children and her granddaughter, Sara.  She enjoyed time walking outdoors, reading, and loved animals, especially her cats.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

 

Dorothy is survived by her children, Dennis (Kathy) Beckwith, Ronald (Karen) Beckwith, and Christine Beckwith; grandchildren, Sara Beckwith-Jost, Tammy Bassett, Pamela Lechenet, Steve Lechenet, and Carrie Bolte; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and brothers, Glenn Abbott, Max Guernsey; and many extended family members and close friends.

 

Funeral services to honor Dorothy’s life will be held at St. Joseph Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 1201 Maiden Lane, St. Joseph, Michigan on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior.
