Obituary of Wendell Vey Linde

Wendell V. Linde, 48, of Niles, passed away on April 6, 2018, of natural causes.

He was born on April 21, 1969 in Niles, Michigan and raised by his loving parents, Werner and Gloria Linde.

Wendell was a Niles High School graduate. He worked as a cook at several local restaurants and enjoyed traveling. He was always easy going and likeable, with a great sense of humor. He was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Bears enthusiast. He also valued time spent with family and catching a movie at the theatre.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Ray Strickling; as well as a sister, Debbie Strickling-Molnar.

Wendell is survived by his parents, Werner and Gloria Linde of Niles; siblings, Werner Linde of Niles, Christina Mattiford of Niles, Sandy Fisher of Grand Rapids, Randy Watson of Texas, Wanda Antisdel of Bellingham, Washington,  Theresa Hershberger of Cassopolis, Rockie Strickling of Niles; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and countless other friends and family members.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Huntly Memorial Baptist Church at 11:00am with a luncheon following. Full military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and the American Legion Post 51. An interment will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
