Obituary of Karen Hastings

Karen Hastings, 66, of Buchanan, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.  She was born on March 9, 1951, in Terre Haute Indiana to the late Gordon Haworth Jr. and Nancy Clifton.  She was adopted and raised by the late Peter and Ruth Overbeek. After high school, Karen went on to earn her cosmetology license and later retired from Community Mental Health where she was a caseworker.  

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and adoptive parents and several adoptive and biological siblings.

She is survived by her children Christopher Hastings of Battle Creek, Michigan, Kim (Tim Kring) Larsen of Mendon, Michigan, and Kelly Hastings of Portage; grandchildren, Jacob and Monica Larsen and Bailey and Chase Hastings; biological brothers, Gordon Powell, Sr., Darrell Haworth, Mike Haworth, and Randy Haworth.

In keeping with Karen's wishes, she has been cremated and her family will be remembering her privately.
