Obituary of Earl Ray Hein
Earl R. Hein, 78, of Niles, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
He was born on July 27, 1939 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Ruddy and Faye (Gonder) Hein.
Earl was always a hard worker and retired from Honeywell after 30 years of service. Following his retirement, Earl could be found sill working; in his garden, cutting wood, tinkering with cars and machinery or occasionally taking his boat out to Lake Michigan.
He is survived by his companion of over ten years, Naomi (Deeds) Pierce of Niles; his two children, Lori and Tom Hein, both of Niles; a granddaughter, Amanda Dunnem; a great-granddaughter, Sarah Dunnem; three brothers, Dale (Shirley) Hein of Buchanan, Ronald (Vickie) Hein of Galien, and Terry (Diane) Hein of Galien; Naomi’s children, Rockne (Debra) Pierce of Buchanan, Lisa (Doug) Medlin of Buchanan and Kristy Pierce of Buchanan as well as Naomi’s grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11:00am at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with Bishop Alfred Deeds officiating. A time of visitation will begin on Wednesday at 10:00am. Full military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and the Buchanan American Legion, Post 51 at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Earl’s memory to Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle, 945 Chippewa Street, Buchanan, Michigan 49107.
