Obituary of Jane Marie White

Jane M. White, 77, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Hospital in Niles on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.

She was born on November 11, 1940, in Manchester, Tennessee to the late Emmett and Alice (Walton) Elrod.

In July of 1964, Jane married John L. White at a ceremony in Niles, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 2015.

Jane worked for many years at Sobel Plastics in South Bend. She enjoyed her flowers and her garden. Jane was known for hand making all of her greeting cards.

Jane is survived by her son, Greg White of Niles; brothers, George (Shirley) Elrod of Davenport, Florida and Floyd Elrod of Niles; a sister, Colleen (Eldon) Stone of Star City, Arkansas; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John L. White; siblings, Harland Elrod, Myrtle Harpole, Alma Ledbetter, Frankie Elrod, Paul Elrod, Kenneth Elrod and Fay Eytcheson; and a niece Barbara Odem.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2018, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home in Niles. Jane will be laid to rest next to her husband at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date.
