To Rick's Family,
I have had the privilege of knowing Rick for many years. Rick's older brother, Art, and I have been best friends forever. Marcia and I were saddened to hear about his passing. Rick was an out standing athlete. Many years ago I had the opportunity of playing softball with the Zache brothers, Art, Gary, and Rick. They were the heart and soul of our team.
I also had the pleasure of having his daughters in elementary school. Kendra and Kelli were outstanding students and athletes. They are a tribute to Rick and his wife.
Rick was also on the school board when I taught at Brandywine. He added vision and common sense to our school system.
He will be missed on many levels, as father, a husband, a brother, and a community leader.
May the Good Lord be with all his family and give you peace in his passing. In the future may you rejoice in the fond memories you have of him. Marcia and I send to you our love and deepest sympathy. God be with you all.
Sincerely,
Bruce and Marcia Scott

Rick spent many years helping to mold me into the woman I am today (mostly through "lose the attitude" and "I know you can do it"). He is a wonderful man with a huge heart and will be missed greatly. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends. We love you Rick. God had certainly gained another beautiful Angel.

I, along with others on this page, also went to school with Rick, from starting at Bertrand School, to graduating at Brandywine High School in 1975. I was also fortunate to share a locker with Rick, from 7th grade until we graduated. As others have previously stated, Rick was an intense competitor in sports. If you played with him, you better work hard to keep up. He, as a leader, expected you to give your all if you were going to be on the field with him. I never, in all my years in school with Rick, never saw him loose his cool. He could definately let you know in his own way, that he knew you could give more.
I had the great fortune of having Rick as a very close friend and confidont back then. He was one reason that I graduated and got my diploma. There were lots of times I wanted to say "the heck with it". That was unacceptable to him. He was certainly one voice of reason to me back then, and for that, I will be eternally grateful.
As life went on after school, and college, we lost contact with each other, but I never forgot him, nor his words of encouragement to me in the years of growing up together that we shared.
To his family, I say God has blessed you, greatly, for having this man in your life as long as you did.
RIP my dear old friend. Can't wait to see you again and do some catching up.

I can`t begin to say how much We will Miss Rick. No better words could have been chosen to describe exactly who Rick was than the words in is Obituary. Along with Rick was always his beautiful family. Rick`s Pride was his wife, children and extended family. He was and always be a true blooded Bobcat. Rick`s pride & knowledge led each of us to a better day in this community. He taught us all how easy it really is to be a family. My Love & Heart is with Deb, Kendra, & Kelly and each of his children & grandchildren. This is a man that was loved by so many more than he could ever know but most of all, It is what he always gave back to us that made you know who Rick was. He taught us the road to look at the positive first and stand for your family was the way to success. Rick you will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Thank You for being a friend.

Rick was my first and closest friend from first grade on into HS. Some have said that Rick was a great athlete, etc. and for those of us who played football, baseball or basketball with him, we know that is true. What I think is more important is that he was a leader. What I remember from football practices or games is not a great interception or touchdown pass: it is the way all of us looked to him for leadership on the field. When we were in a game, there was no doubt whose offense it was: It was his, and he would just as soon toss you out of the huddle if you were not there to win.
There were many of us at Brandywine who were leaders, and have continued to be so through college and career. But most of our HS friends would agree that Rick was one of the most respected of our peers in terms of leadership. On the field or off, Rick was someone to whom people would listen and have confidence in. My belief is I am a better person to have known him, and am proud to have called him by good friend.

I offer my condolences to the Zache family. I worked with and for Rick for many years at Coca-Cola. While I was fortunate to know him as a manager, I was more blessed to know him as a father, hubsand and my friend. You knew that the most important part of him was his family. I felt like I knew everyone in his family from his parents to his grand children because he spoke highly and often of them.
I know he will continue to watch over you!

I would like to express my deepest sympathies to his family during this difficult time. I'm praying for peace and comfort from our Heavenly Father. I knew Rick from Brandywine HIgh School. We we're both class of "75". I haven't seen or heard from him since graduation..until some of our class members posted on facebook that Rick was sick. My heart just sank. I remember Rick being one of the most popular guy's in School..especially with the girls. He was loved by everyone. He leaves behind such a beautiful family and a great legacy. Love and prayers to you all!!

My prayers go out to the entire Zache family. As a childhood friend of Rick from 6 years old until high school, I was over to his house quite often. I remember how close his family was to each other and how much I enjoyed being over there. We played little league baseball and high school sports together. He was a great athlete. He was a special person and a great friend to all. Our thoughts and prayers to out to the entire Zache family.

Seeing this broke my heart. I worked with Rick at minute maid in the late 90's. Although I have not seen him in many years I have thought about him often. He was a mentor to me and a great person. I truly feel that he had a positive influence on me and I may not be the person I am today had we not met. Thinking back I see that huge genuine smile and hear his contagious laugh.

My heart goes out to the family. Rick was a great, caring, compassionate person. I am thankful to have known him at Coke. He was such a family man, and you could tell his pride when he would speak of his family, but he also cared about us that he worked with too. He will be missed, but never forgotten. He is at peace now, and suffers no more. RIP Rick, til we meet again. Look over your family, and our work family. Know that you were all his pride and joy.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. I am so thankful that I was able to get to know Rick through working at Coca-Cola. When I went to the interview, Rick was the one who interviewed me. He put me at ease, which was good because I really do not like interviews! I worked with him for 13 years, and got to know him. I will never forget the way that he always spoke about his wife and kids. He was so proud. He was always sharing about watching his daughters play softball. He will definitely be missed by a lot of people. Rest in peace Rick!

I will truly miss Rick he was like a Brother to me that I never had. He took care of me in bad times and good. I always felt that family connection I loved to go and watch him play sports and just hang out and talk. He was a wonderful father and I know how much he loved his kids and family. Rick will be missed dearly by friends and family he had so many good qualities about him and anyone that came in contact with him loved him. He was generous, caring, and always there for you. I now know he is with Uncle Art and my Dad and they will watch over the rest of us until we meet again. Your Little Sis.
