Obituary of Erma Lee Ott
Erma Lee Ott, 95 years, of Niles, formerly of Buchanan, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at West Woods of Niles.
She was born on Sunday, September 10, 1922 in Calico Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Charles and the late Easter (Smith) Burgess.
Erma graduated high school and was a homemaker most of her life. On July 18, 1940, Erma wed Loy Zem Ott, Jr. at a ceremony in Arkansas. Erma grew up the oldest of seven siblings and was always a caregiver. She was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Buchanan, serving as a Sunday school teacher and secretary as well as the church clerk. Erma loved collecting depression glass and was gifted at crocheting and embroidery. She will be remembered for her quick wit and love of family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Gerald Ott; her siblings, Hale Burgess, Florence Mathis, Charline Stoner, Roy Burgess and Bob Burgess.
Erma is survived by her daughter, Betty Sue (Willie) Tittle of Niles; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Hansen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with a time of visitation beginning at 11:00 am. A committal service will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at Oak Ridge Cemetery Chapel in Buchanan.
