Obituary of Wesley Elton Truax

Wesley Truax, 61, of Granger, passed away at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka on Saturday, January 6, 2018.

Wesley was born in South Bend on July 7, 1956, to the late Duane and Norma (Turner) Truax.  After graduating from Brandywine High School, Wesley went on to earn his Associate’s Degree from IUSB.  On April 19, 1975, Wesley wed Stacey Young at a ceremony in South Bend.  Shortly after their daughter Sheryl was born and later the three were joined by Karolynn.  Wesley was a Welder by trade.  When he wasn’t working he was taking care of his family.  He was a wonderful father and husband.  He enjoyed helping others, including his neighbors and many of the neighborhood kids.  One of the things that made Wes the happiest though was his granddaughter, Allison. 

Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Norma and daughter, Karolynn Truax.

He is survived by his wife, Stacey Truax; daughter, Sheryl Truax of Granger; granddaughter, Allison Truax; brother, Duane (Diana) Truax of Niles; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

Funeral services to honor Wesley’s life will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior.
