Obituary of Opal E. Tittle

Opal E. Tittle, 87, of Niles, passed away Sunday morning, January 26, at Lakeland Hospital in Niles. Opal was born on March 10, 1926 to Nathan and Essie (Dunn) Williams in Fayette, Alabama. She married James O. Tittle on January 26, 1942 at a ceremony in Lynn, Alabama. Opal worked many years as a nurse's aide. She was a lively, sweet, funny woman, who was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Rebecca Tittle and Barbara June Tittle, son Manny Tittle, sister Rhoda Mae Tittle, two brothers, Howard Williams and Buster Williams. Opal is survived by four daughters; Joan (Tom) Housand of Buchanan, Joe Ann (Merrial) Allen of Niles, Kathy (Ben) Richardson of Niles and Preble (Mike) Paustian, two sons, James "Mark" Tittle of Niles and Matthew Tittle of Niles, two siblings, Ruby Laura Stewart of Birmingham, Alabama and Shelby Faye Stafford of Flat Rock, Michigan, she was a "Grandma" to many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Opal's joys in life were family, friends and flowers. Having a green thumb she could get anything to grow or bloom. Her children always were her first concern and expanded as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren arrived. Private family services will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 am in Mission Hills Memorial chapel in the back of the cemetery. Pastor Bob Jackson will be officiating the services.
