Obituary of Shirley Ann Hunsberger

Shirley A. Hunsberger, 77, of Dowagiac, passed away at her home on Thursday, January 30, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born on March 11, 1936 to the late William and Nellie (Poff) Younger. Shirley wed Jerry Hunsberger on July 21, 1956; together they had six children. Shirley loved tending to her garden, mushroom hunting, dancing and especially vacationing to Wisconsin where she could fish until her heart was content. Before Jerry passed away the two of them frequented the casino. She raised a large family and enjoyed every minute of it, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; son, Billy Hunsberger and brother William Younger. Shirley is survived by her children, Vickie Riggs of Dowagiac, Michigan, Cathy Hunsberger of Dowagiac, Jerry Hunsberger Jr. of Dowagiac, Debra Hunsberger of Dowagiac and Pamela Rank of Dowagiac; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and siblings Louise Swift of Brighton, Tennessee and Max Younger of Cordova, Tennessee. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel from Noon until 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service to honor Shirley's life beginning at 1:00 p.m.
