Edwin E. "Ted" Mallory, 97, of Marquette Drive, passed away peacefully, at his residence on Thursday, February 6, 2014, following a brief illness.
Mr. Mallory was born on August 17, 1916 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to the late Ernest L. and Lela V. (DeMass) Mallory. After graduating from Kent State High School, Ted joined the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army he quickly put his considerable talents to work as a design engineer at National Rubber Machinery Company in Akron, Ohio. He worked there until July 1962 when he accepted a position with National-Standard Company in Niles. Ted was known throughout the rubber and wire industry for his impressive skills in creating processes and machines to solve practical problems in manufacturing, and holds a number of patents for innovations that he created while at National-Standard.
Ted has been a lifelong Methodist and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Niles. He also was involved with the Niles-Buchanan Habitat for Humanity
