Obituary of Frederick Gilbert Young

Frederick Gilbert Young, 83, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.
Fred was born on August 30, 1934, to the late John and Carribel (Schmidt) Young in Niles. While attending Western Michigan University Fred met Nancy Simmons and the two were wed at a ceremony in Saugatuck. In his free time, Fred enjoyed taking walks by the St.Joseph River in Niles with his dog, Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Carribel and wife, Nancy Young.
Fred is survived by his children, Cary Dainton of San Antonio, Texas, Fred Young of South Bend, John (Judy) Young of Niles, Robert Young of Niles, and Bonnie (Ryan) Underwood of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Jack (Judy) Young of Niles and Mary McKee of Flint, Michigan; and many extended family members and close friends.
Funeral services to honor Fred's life will be held at Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle in Buchanan on Monday, September 18, 2017, at 12:00 p.m.
