Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary F. Green, 95, of Niles, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at West Woods of Niles, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on May 13, 1918 in Lecoma, Missouri to the late Drew F. and Mattie O. (Elliott) Leonard.
Mary married Earl W. Smith and he preceded her in death; some years later, Mary wed Ben H. Green and he passed away in 1970. Mary was an excellent cook and enjoyed the many years she worked in the kitchen at the Four Flags Hotel. She also worked for many years at Simplicity Pattern Company. In her spare-time she enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her family as well as crocheting.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by her brothers; Phillip, Frank, Willis and Earl Leonard and a sister Mable Plank.
Mary is survived by her loving remaining family and caregivers; a niece Jean (Terry) Rice of Niles, step-daughter Betty True of Niles, as well as many great nieces and nephews and her friends.
In keeping with Mary's wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Morris Chapel Cemetery in Niles.
The family of Mrs. Green wishes to thank the staff at West Woods of Niles, especially the 100 hall, for their many years of love and care shown.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Green's memory to West Woods of Niles.
