Obituary of Richard Flint

Richard D. Flint, 76, of Niles, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, April 16, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Niles to the late Walter C. and Velma (Harris) Flint. Dick graduated from Niles High School. On May 3, 1962 he married Joyce Mitchell at a ceremony in Niles. He worked for over 10 years at Tyler Refrigeration and retired from National Standard following many years of service. Many will also remember being greeted by Dick at the State of Michigan Licensing, where he worked as a security guard. He was a member of Calvin Community Chapel and in his spare time enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers. Dick is survived by his wife Joyce Flint of Niles, three sons; Brian Flint of Niles, Douglas Flint of Cassopolis and Craig Flint of Niles, three grandchildren; Brian Jr., Danielle and Ryan, six great-grandchildren two sisters Beverly Austin of Niles and Sharon (Nelson) Hill of Nottawa, Michigan, two brothers Eugene (Lois) Flint of Alabama and Jerry Flint of Niles as well as many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Dick's wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
