Obituary of Gerald Edward Barbour

Gerald Barbour, 76, of Niles, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. Gerald Barbour was born on May 18, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Joseph and Ruth (Miller) Barbour. Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years and retired as a Major. On September 7, 1968 he married the love of his life Pat (Oberle) Barbour at a ceremony at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois. He is survived by his wife, three sons; David (Pattie) Barnes of Williston, Tennessee, Robert (Carrie) Barbour of Elkhart, John Barbour of Niles, three grandchildren; Ava Barbour, Clara Barnes and Sydney Barnes. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Gerald's memory to the Berrien County Humane Society; 9204 Huckleberry Road, Berrien Center, Michigan 49102. In keeping with Gerald's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 3:00pm at the Pokagon United Methodist Church; 31393 Kansas Street, Dowagiac, Michigan 49047.
