Obituary of Billey W Dillinger

Billey Dillinger, 89, of Buchanan, passed away at his residence, being cared for by his family and Hospice at Home on Friday, May 9, 2014. Billey moved to Michigan from Arkansas in 1948. He worked as a welding inspector for Clark Equipment Company in Buchanan for many years. After retirement, Billey never allowing his hands to be idle, he picked up the passion for growing and selling watermelons and Gladiolas, even to Oprah Winfrey. He also loved to tinker and fix things and was gifted in many areas. On June 26, 1954 Billey married the love of his life, Alma Crawford (also from Arkansas) at a ceremony in Buchanan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Melvin Dillinger. Billey is survived by his wife Alma Dillinger of Buchanan, a son Jeffrey (Laura) Dillinger, two daughters Carla and Lorna Dillinger all of Buchanan, as well as two grandchildren Sarah McNees and Jonathan Doane. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel, at 61453 M-51 in Niles. A time of visitation will begin one hour prior.
