Obituary of Sharon Anne Emery

Sharon A. Emery, 71, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Coloma, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Tender Care Nursing Home in Kalamazoo.
She was born on August 14, 1941 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late Kenneth Franklin and Irene (Smith) Brown.
On August 7, 1960 Sharon married Thomas Jay Emery at a ceremony in St. Joseph, Michigan.
She delivered newspapers for many years at the Herald Palladium and Tradlines. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo, gardening and cooking. Sharon also had a love for animals, especially cats. She also loved spending time with her family.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth Brown and Irene Lamoreaux, her husband Thomas, a daughter Debbie Emery and three brothers; William "Bill" Brown, Robert "Bob" Brown and Donald "Donny" Brown.
She is survived by two daughters Robin (Del) Thompson of Benton Harbor, Terry Emery (Tom) Springer of Coloma, a son Thomas (Susan) Emery of Chicago, four grandchildren; Anna, Tiffany, Thomas "T.J." and Aidan and a sister Charlene (Bob) Robinson of Coloma.
A private graveside service was held by the family at North Shore Memory Gardens. A time to celebrate Sharon's life will be held for her friends and family at the Coloma Legion Post 362, 6505 Red Arrow Highway in Coloma from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16th, 2013.
Memorial contributions may be made in Sharon's memory to the Humane Society or to Hospice.
