Marjorie E. (Breed) Murphy, 93, of Eau Claire, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at The Timbers of Cass County, following an illness.
She was born on September 23, 1920 in Fulton, New York to the late Carroll Henry and Harriett (Keyes) Schryver Breed.
Marjorie served her country proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On May 28, 1947 Marjorie married Floyd L. Murphy at a ceremony in Fulton, New York. She worked for several years as a secretary. She mostly enjoyed being a fantastic homemaker and mother. Marjorie was an avid bowler and had a special place in her heart for animals. She will be remembered for her love, compassion, sense of humor and her resilience.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd L. Murphy, two sisters Lucille Hunter and Priscilla Ballard and two brothers Dudley Breed and Carroll Breed, Jr.
Marjorie is survived by a son Richard B. (Barbara) Murphy of Noblesville, Indiana, a daughter Beth Murphy of Eau Claire, four grandchildren; Nicole, Kara, Molly and Patrick and a great-granddaughter Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie's memory to the Cass County Council on Aging.
A private graveside committal will be held at Highland Cemetery in South Bend.
