Obituary of John H. Daniel

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Daniel, 72, of Berrien Springs, Michigan passed away at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. John was born on January 1, 1942 to the late Clyde and Blanche (Gregory) Daniel in Eufaula, Oklahoma. He was one of nine children growing up in the Daniel household. After graduating from New Troy High School John went on to become a truck driver and successfully owned his own trucking business until his health forced him to give up over-the-road trucking. After retiring from trucking John never sat idly by; he loved cars and racing, especially watching NASCAR. He raced stock cars when he was younger and continued to work on cars for many years. John always had a plan and did whatever he could to carry it out to its fullest. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey Daniel; brothers, Herb, Bill, Jerry and Gordon Daniel and two sisters Jane and Peggy Daniel. John is survived by his children Amanda (Dave) Witter of Three Oaks, Michigan, Lisa (Keith) Clark of Niles and Joseph Daniel of Stevensville, Michigan, eight grandchildren, one great granddaughter and brothers James Daniel of New Troy, Michigan and Steve (Patty) Daniel of New Buffalo, Michigan. In keeping with his wishes John has been cremated and will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Chikaming Township near his son Jeffrey. Those wishing to make a memorial donation may do so in John's name to Hospice at Home located at 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, Michigan 49085.
