I always loved Aunt Alice. She had such a cute, ornery smile. I'll never forget how loud mom and her talked when they were together - I wanted to hold my hands over my ears when we were in the car with them! They really loved each other, and Mom said Alice always watched out for her. Mom and Alice came to visit Mark and I when we lived in Florida. We had just gotten two dogs. They were wary of strangers and tried to keep Mom and Aunt Alice from coming out of their rooms in the mornings. I told them to give the dogs treats, so every morning at breakfast Aunt Alice would dutifully feed them treats. Mom wouldn't do it, so the dogs liked Aunt Alice better than Mom!

Wow! Long list of memories -- from visiting in Wapak, to holiday gatherings on the front porch at Aunt Gertie's, --- to our trips to Marshall.
Mom used to laugh at her -- I remember stopping for some chocolate eclairs at the bakery on Wayne Street in Lima. Aunt Alice's Eclair didn't have enough filling in it, so she went back to correct the situation. Mom said she didn't know how she did it: Tell someone off, get what she wanted, and leave the premises with everyone smiling!
Many fond memories of our visits at the Gratz' residences. She will be missed.
All our best to Myra, Mike, Mary and all the family. Wish we could be there.

I really liked Aunt Alice. She was kind of mischievious and had a cute, ornery smile. She never gave up when the going got tough. She and mom really loved each other. Mom has been reminiscing about her. We miss her!

Aunt Alice always made me laugh and she had a way of not fretting about problems, but just found a way to solve them. She was a strong woman who loved her family and cared for others greatly. I will miss her.

What I remember the most about Alice is her sweetness. She produced a positive vibe with a strong energy and genuine spirit. She was incredibly loved which is why she lived such a long and fulfilled life. Anyone that encountered her was blessed by her good nature and sincere demeanor. I am happy she went to a better place where she is free from suffering and can still watch over those she loves in a peaceful manner.
