Obituary of Lucille Daron

Lucille Daron, 84, of Niles, peacefully entered God's Kingdom on the morning of Thursday, September 21, 2017 with her family at her side. Lucille was born on July 8, 1933 to the late Edward and Dreyda (Pufall) Backus in Bridgman, Michigan. Lucille graduated from Buchanan High School in 1951 and on November 24th of that same year Lucille wed Robert Daron. She and Bob made their home in Niles and were blessed with five children. Lucille was a dedicate member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she served with the Christian Service Organization. She also volunteered at Lakeland Hospital in Niles. Lucille enjoyed playing bingo and cards as well as her trips to local casinos with her sister-in-law and partner in crime, Lois Backus. She took her greatest pleasure in spoiling her grandchildren. Lucille is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; son, Bruce Daron; brothers, Melvin, Dale, and Marvin Backus; and sisters, Helen Young and Dorothy Shaff. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Robert Daron, Jr. of Mishawaka, Brian Daron of Niles, Connie Daron of Niles, and Robin Starks of Bakers Mills, New York; two grandchildren Nathan and Kaitlyn Boyd; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leo Backus of Niles and Ronald Backus of Branch, Michigan. A time of visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home in Niles from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. with cremation to follow and a private burial to lay Lucille to rest next to her husband. In lieu of flowers Lucille's family ask that donations be made to the Christian Service Organization of St. Mary's
