Obituary of Aaron S. Edquist

Aaron S. Edquist, 26, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, following a 6 year battle with cancer, with the same strength and determination he was known by. Aaron was born to Terry and Tracie (Ketchum) Edquist on January 20, 1988 in Niles, Michigan. He was a 2006 graduate of Brandywine High School who made his mark there as a dedicated and gifted two sport athlete, football and wrestling, and was a heavy weight state finalist in his senior year. After graduation Aaron pursued his education at Southwest Michigan College; he never let his health be a deterrent or an excuse. Rather, he was a very driven young man and made sure to pursue his passions with enthusiasm that was inspirational. Those who had the privilege of being around Aaron soon understood, excuses were for those who chose to look for a way out of something. Aaron was not looking for an excuse; his drive was remarkable, and the attitude that he faced life with was full of zeal. Aaron was employed by Owens Lawn Care of Niles and enjoyed his job. He had a way about him that drew people to him, perhaps it was his charm or the smile that was always present. He was passionate about gardening, hunting trips and road trips with friends, and spending time with family and friends. Preceding Aaron is his paternal grandmother Maxine Edquist, maternal grandparents Howard and Wanda Ketchum. He is survived by his parents Terry and Tracie Edquist of Niles, his brother Zach Edquist of Niles, and his grandfather Glen Edquist, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of people whose life Aaron touched. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Brown Funeral Home in Niles from 2:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Funeral services for Aaron will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at noon, at Brandywine High School football stadium in Niles. At Aaron's request casual attire is acceptable.
