Obituary of Vivian J. Jager

Vivian J. (Wilda) Jager, 91, of Buchanan, formerly of Flint, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, August 14, 2014, following a brief illness.
She was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on April 10, 1923 to the late Anton and Mary (Novotny) Wilda.
On July 18, 1942 Vivian married Paul Jager in Flushing, Michigan.
During World War II, Vivian worked at Fisher Body as "Rosie the Riveter". Vivian most recently attended Calvary Baptist Church. Prior to moving from Flint to Buchanan, Vivian was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Flint Keyboard Organ Club and the McLaren Hospital Auxiliary. Vivian enjoyed travel, playing cards with family and friends, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul Jager in 1997, a son Steven Jager in 1980, two brothers and five sisters.
Vivian is survived by her son Dennis (Gloria) Jager, daughter Paulette Sloderbeck, five grandchildren; Dayna (Dana) Love, Scot Sloderbeck, Todd (Sherry) Jager, Tom (Melissa) Jager, Raschelle (Lisa) Jager, eight great-grandchildren and brother Lynn Wilda of South Bend as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate the Life of Vivian will be held on Tuesday, August 19th at 1:00p.m., at Life Action Ministries, 2727 Niles-Buchanan Road, Buchanan.
Memorial contributions may be made in Vivian's memory to Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, Michigan 49085.
