Obituary of William E. Bogenrieder

William "Bill" E. Bogenrieder, 85, of Niles passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. On September 25, 1928, William Bogenrieder was born to the late Joseph and Mauda (Andrick) Bogenrieder in South Bend, Indiana. On September 7, 1950 he married the former Betty Cinninger at a ceremony in Niles, Michigan. He was a custom home builder in the area most of his life. Bill thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and all it had to offer, whether he was sitting and enjoying the scenery or hunting and fishing. During the winter months he especially enjoyed sled dog racing and was a member of the Great Lakes Sled Dog Association. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Jill Ann Bogenrieder. Surviving Bill is his wife of 63 years, Betty; his daughters, Cynthia (Michael) Holsclaw of Indianapolis, Indiana and Sandra Kater of Bridgeman, Michigan; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services for Bill will be 2 O'clock Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel with a visitation one hour prior. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in honor of Bill may do so to Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, Michigan 49085.
