Obituary of Pamela Sue Stone

Pamela Sue Stone, 50, of Niles passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013. Pam was born on December 12, 1962 to the late Joseph and Betty (Cummins) Pirtle in Cedar Lake, Indiana. She was one of six children growing up. Pam graduated from Crown Point High School in 1981. After graduating she moved to the Michiana area where she started working in customer service. She enjoyed the technology aspect of her job and decided to pursue a career in Information Technology. That led her to Simplicity where she worked her way up to I.T. Supervisor. She worked at Simplicity until they closed their offices. On March 23, 1991 Pam wed Gary Eugene Stone. Together they have two children. Pam was a wonderful mother and enjoyed spending time with her husband and children at Silver Beach. She enjoyed gardening which always led to her bird watching. She was an avid photographer; Pam loved photographing the wild birds, her camera went with her everywhere. Pam is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Gary, children Bridgette Stone of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Dillon Stone of Niles and siblings Daniel Pirtle of South Bend, Indiana, Gail (Joe) Kearns of Carlsbad, California, Rush Cole of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Jackie Cummins of Worth, Illinois and Cheyenne Willis of Bixby, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held to honor Pam at Hope Community Church in Niles on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior. Pastor Mike Smith will be officiating. Memorial donations may be made in Pam's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis Research at 501 St Jude Place in Memphis, TN 38105.
