Obituary of Ann Hiter

Ann M. Hiter, 85, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Hospital in Niles on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Ann was born on December 14, 1928 to the late Theodore and Reva (Bolden) Ledford in Clyde, North Carolina. On December 30, 1950 Ann wed Melvin Hiter at a ceremony in Waynesville, North Carolina. Together the two had five children. Ann loved flowers and enjoyed spending time in her garden, quilting, crocheting and knitting. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; her sons, Phillip and James Hiter and siblings, Junior Ledford, Lucy Ledford, Fred Ledford and Lori Beaver. Ann is survived by her sons, Larry, Danny and Charles Hiter all of Niles; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and siblings, Dow (Betty) Ledford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Martha (Frank) Green of Fines Creek, North Carolina, and Frona Ledford of Fines Creek. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel.
