Obituary of Jeanne Louise Boardman

Jeanne L. (Goetz) Boardman, 95, of Stevensville, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 16, 2014 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville. She was born on January 2, 1919 in Naperville, Illinois to the late Otto and Mable (Givler) Goetz. On June 22, 1940, she married Charles R. Boardman at a ceremony in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. After graduating from high school, Jeanne attended North Central College where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in French, and thereafter earned her teaching certificate. Jeanne committed many years to teaching and touched the lives of hundreds of children. She also took great pride in being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and the love and care she offered to them spoke to her devotion. Time spent with family was very precious to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Boardman, two sisters Ada Wilde and Charlotte Mast and two brothers George and David Goetz. Jeanne is survived by her sister: Carolyn Heilman; three sons: Thomas (Connie) Boardman of Tifton, Georgia, James (Eloise) Boardman of Stevensville and Daniel (Beth) Boardman of Woodstock, Georgia; a daughter: Mary Ann (Frank) Skutka of Cartersville, Georgia; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. In keeping with Jeanne's wishes, private services will be held by her family. She passed away peacefully with many family members at her bedside.
