So sorry to here of Mrs. Cosey's passing. We just returned home from camping to here of the news. We both worked with Eunice at J. Gage School. She was such an energetic and lovely lady; so good with the children. She was so strong through the loss of her spouse and children. She was a sweetheart that made an impact on all who met her. Our thoughts are with her family. --Dale and Pam Hutchings

To the Cosey Family:
Our hearts are heavy and our words are few... Aunt Eunice was a very special Aunt to us. She always had a loving smile to share even when her heart was aching. Well on this day, like so many we have experienced in the past, we too will follow her example to relay on our faith, love and family to get us through. The love we shared on earth will endure with her in heaven.
Love,
Ida, Frank and Jaudon Robinson

I had the honor of working with Eunice Cosey for a few years at Justice Gage. She was a great lady. All the kids loved her so much. They would give her hugs daily. She was known to most of the kids as Grandma Cosey.
She loved to talk about her family. She would tell me stories about her children growing up. I remember she once told me about walking to the school in the snow because of an issue with one of her daughters. She said the school knew when she got there that she was not happy and gave them an ear full! She taught me that you have to stand up for your family and not let anyone walk all over you. She would also tell me about her family in Georgia and how much she loved and worried about them.
She also told me to cherish your loved ones because you don't know what tomorrow might bring. One day she seemed kind of down and not herself. As we were doing our clean up for the day, she told me she had been missing her daughter Shirley. We talked a bit and then I gave her a hug and went home. I told my husband about it that night. The evening before school let out for Christmas break, I was putting together a platter of cookies and other goodies I had made for her when my husband came in and said he had one more thing to add. It was a wooden angel ornament he had made on his scroll saw. He said it was her guardian angel. She cried and gave me the biggest hug when I gave it to her.
My biggest regret is that I did not keep in closer touch with her after I stopped working with her. I only saw her every now and then in passing. We never had more that a few minutes to talk. That makes me even more grateful that I happened to run into her just last week. She said she was feeling tired and thought it was going to be her last year at the school and even though the kids were little hoodlums, she would miss them. I gave her a hug, not knowing it would be the last I would ever give her.
Rest in Peace, Eunice. You were a wonderful woman who had a such an impact on my life. You will be missed by so many.
Your friend, April Kruger
