Obituary of Norman R. Curran

Norman R. Curran, 73, of Niles, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, Indiana, following a brief illness. He was born on May 3, 1941 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Raymond H. and Virginia C. (Seager) Curran. After graduating from high school, Norm worked as a mechanic. He re tired after many years of service with Old Dominion Truck Leasing. On April 25, 1964 Norm married Judy A. Alford at a ceremony in Niles. He enjoyed collecting trains, model cars and trucks and loved going for rides in his Corvette. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary Alice Wise. Norman is survived by his wife of fifty years, Judy Curran of Niles, three sons; Tye (Jodi) Curran of Niles, Todd (Debbie) Curran of Niles and Timothy (Elizabeth) Curran of Vandalia, two grandsons Tyler and Austin, three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren, four brothers; Ronald Curran of Mishawaka, Benard (Cheryl) Curran of Niles, Edward Curran of Mishawaka and John (Kelly) Curran of Niles, four sisters; Barbara (Charles) Gibson of Dukedom, Tennessee, Patricia (Raymond) Cherrone of Roseland, Indiana, Shirley Curran and Susan Curran both of Niles as well as a host of nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made in Norman's memory to the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be provided at Mission Hills Chapel.
