John "Jack" Richard Walde, 74, of Niles, MI and formerly of Winfield, IL, passed away on November 3, 2014, after a short battle with cancer.
John was born in Iowa and graduated from Denison High School. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa. He later relocated to Illinois and became a Certified Public Accountant & Certified Illinois Municipal Treasurer. In May of 1989 John wed Leslie Larsen. Most recently John was employed as the finance director for the Village of Algonquin.
He is preceded in death by his parents Max & Alice Walde; brother Jim Walde and sister Maxine Walde.
John is survived by his wife Leslie Larsen-Walde, children Brian Walde of Georgia and Cindy (Aaron) Donnelly of Bloomington, IL; Leslie's children Dan (Kristina) Larsen of La Fox, IL, Kimberly Ebel of North Aurora, IL and Andrew Larsen of Lisle, IL; sisters Kathy (Bob) Mason of Powell, WY and Marge (Jim) Knott of Carroll, IA and eight grandchildren.
The family will be remembering Jack in a private tribute. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
