Obituary of Phyllis A. Mann

Phyllis A. Mann, also known as "grandma with the bees", 74, of Niles, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday evening, January 23, 2015 at her residence. She was born on January 3, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to to the late Arthur Joseph and Eloise Frieda (Smith) Vickery. On December 5, 1958 Phyllis married her high school sweetheart Macks Neil Mann. She was a retired bartender for the American Legion Post #253 in North Webster, Indiana until moving to Michigan to be closer to her son and daughter-in-law and grandchildren. She enjoyed boating, fishing and trips to the casino. She was preceded in death by her father and step-mother Arthur J. and Rosemary Vickery, her mother and step-father Eloise F. (Leo) Pattenaude, her husband Macks Neil Mann, two brothers Arthur William "Butchy" Vickery and James David Vickery as well as her grandparents and many aunts and uncles. Phyllis is survived by her son Joseph "Joe" (Mary) Mann of Niles, a sister Jeanette Nadine (William) Mowery of North Webster, three brothers; Robert Lee (Ellen) Vickery of Warsaw, Indiana, Joseph Brian (Nancy) Vickery of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Daniel Mann (Mary) Vickery of Muncie, Indiana, five grandchildren whom she adored; Ann M. Brown of Trenton, Michigan, Erika Lynn Mann of Riverview, Michigan, Joseph Daniel (Heather) Mann of Riverview, Michigan, Katherine Elizabeth (Ryan) Bono of Taylor, Michigan and Samuel Clayton (Kayla) Bono of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, five great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. She also leaves two very special women, her Aunt Mackie and Aunt Billy Sue, both residing in southern Indiana. In keeping with Phyllis' wishes, cremation has taken place and a time to celebrate her life is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post #253 in North Webster. Memorial contributions may be made in Phyllis' memory to the American Legion Post 253, 756 S. Indiana 13, North Webster, Indiana 46555.
