Obituary of Judith Alice Adler

Judy Adler, 76, formerly of 1505 Broadway in Niles, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, with her daughter at her side. She was an only child, born in Niles on March 15, 1938, to the late Newt and Myrt Bacon. Judy was a proud member of the Niles High School Class of 1956. Following graduation, she married Jerry Adler, also of Niles. Together, Judy and Jerry provided a warm and loving home to their two children Caryn "Cary", and Jeff, both of whom survive. After the children were in high school, Judy attended Southwestern Michigan College and had a fulfilling career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, working mostly in the insurance field. Her work, her faith, her family and her friends were very precious to Judy. Judy will be remembered by her many friends in Orlando, Kalamazoo, South Bend, and of course, Niles, where her roots were deep. She was a gifted pianist from a young age, and always had a word of encouragement for all who need one, including strangers. In addition to her children, Judy leaves the legacy of her memory to live on in her five grandchildren (Johannah, Jonathan, Kim, DeRon, and Mitch Adler), and four great-grandchildren, Libby, Mickey, Monte, and Emmy Jones. Judy was preceded in death by a grandson, Chase Adler, just three months prior to her own passing. Cards of condolence for the family may be directed to Caryn Adler, 1734 Regent St, Niles, MI, 49120. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made in Judy's memory to Brown Funeral Home, where a fund has been established to assist the family with final expenses.
